Deadhead
A crew member traveling as a passenger to reposition for duty.
A deadhead is a pilot or flight attendant who travels on a flight as a passenger, on the airline's instruction, in order to be in the right place to operate another flight. The crew member is on duty and being paid, but not working the flight they are riding on. Airlines use deadheading to balance crew across their network.
