Airbus reveals new A350F test aircraft sporting unique parcel delivery livery
Fuselage design for initial freighter selected after competition. Airbus has unveiled the paint scheme on its first A350F aircraft, as the freighter edges towards flight testing . The initial flight-test airframe features a fuselage design representative of packaging, with labels and postal instructions. This livery was the successful entry from over 4,000 submitted during a competition organised by Airbus in 2022. Airbus has been aiming to conduct the twinjet's maiden flight in the third quarter of this year, although it recently referred only to plans to achieve first flight by the year-end . The aircraft is fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines, like the slightly-larger A350-1000 passenger variant. Airbus will use two aircraft – MSN700 and MSN701 – for the certification campaign. It is expecting initial deliveries in the second half of next year.
