Sustainable Aviation Fuel is jet fuel produced from feedstocks such as used cooking oil, agricultural residues, or captured carbon rather than fossil crude. It can cut lifecycle carbon emissions substantially and is usually blended with conventional jet fuel. SAF is central to the aviation industry's decarbonization plans, though production volumes remain limited.
